Are you on a PC or Mac? On Windows system I use Winrar to open up and unpack the files that get downloaded. I'm not sure if winrar works for Mac system or not, but I would Google it to find a replacement, or perhaps someone can help out.

Thank you for your reply naquoya. I got as far as seeing that the first download link into iGetter. It's whatever the next step is that I'm having trouble with. When I click on the file in my Mac's download file it just brings me back to iGetter. Hoping someone can shed some light on what I'm too obtuse to realize I should be doing next.

    Kriton, you're the bomb!

I was a complete noob and jumped into paying for a GB.
I wish I would have received your post as a private message or something immediately after signing up to GI and/or purchasing my first GB.

Thanks for the clarity, as it REALLY helps out a noob like me.

What happens if not everyone has paid and the offer featured in the Group Buy is about to close in a few hours? Should one be concerned or is it being worked out behind the scenes? I'm not worried about anyone "running off" with my money, but I am concerned that we will all miss out on the Group Buy...is this a valid concern?

This is both a valid concern, and valid question, and there is no harm in asking it. Generally(and by that I mean in 99%+ of GBs run here) when a payment link for a GB has been issued, admin are aware of any time restrictions (so long as this has been brought to our attention). If the GB is still in progress, this doesn't affect the purchasing of the product. Admin wont start a GB that has a deadline on it, then allow that to pass (at least, we would not do so deliberately).

So admin are organising purchase behind the scenes, separately to the collection of funds through the payment link, if that is what is needed to make the GB work.

Thanks for that. I'm new to this forum thing and had a GB in mind to purchase. I was a little doubtful about this process and how it works, but with a more informed explanation of how thing work, I feel more confident about making the purchase.

GB Pricing Structure = Product price + $200 OR 20% (which ever is the higher amount) + 10.5% Payment Processor Fee + $3.00 per seat FTP Fee

Why is there a $200/20% fee?
Why is there a 10.5% payment processor fee?
Why is there a $3.00 per seat FTP fee?

Can you please explain why these high fees are needed?

I'm all for group buying a product in an honest manner, but it seems as if the owner/owners of this site are profiting off products they didn't create. .

    Hello ohai

This is probably not the best post for a first post to endear yourself to our members. That said, this is a fair question for someone new. The answer to your question is around the forum, but easy to miss.

First of all, everyone involved with GI is a volunteer. No one makes money off this unlike other sites you might visit.

Second, storing and delivering terrabytes of info has certain costs, which represent two out of the three fees (and I'm not even sure the FTP fee is even charged anymore). Payment processing fees are the fees provided to the payment service and out of GI control.

Third, if you surf around you will see much evidence of incredible transparency and generosity from the admins. Which is why your note could possibly ruffle a few feathers. The volunteers and admins work very hard after their jobs and families to handle this site and provide good service. Your suggestion may not have been received well phrased the way it was.

I hope this clears things up.

    Kriton

It's a good time to mention that I am not one, just so that there is no confusion, just a member, so I do not speak with any official capacity)

I think Kriton has answered your questions very well (and very well mannered too).

Can I ask you - would you spend many thousands of dollars a year of your own money so other people may come and get GBs cheaply, and some even question your intentions? If so, then may I suggest you start your own GB site and NOT charge any fees. Please let me know how that works out, I would love to hear.

Can anyone recommend a good way to download a bunch of links? Is there a script or a Firefox addon or something that works for one of these lists of GB links?
    Thanks

    Windows user:
Internet Download Manager (program) - IDM
and you can add the premium account inside IDM, and then copy links and paste them inside the program. And you're done.

If you are a windows user, download the above program, and get back to me to help you further.
I'm here to learn and serve, and you are here to learn. If it's not the case for you or for me, then someone should leave.

Good information through this thread so thanks everyone who shared information! Glad to be here!

For those wanting a great way to scrap video, etc. from YouTube and most other sites then check out EagleGet (search for it as I did not want to drop a link - just FYI I have no affiliation with them but just wanted to share my new favorite tool).
